The paper focuses on the theoretical aspects of early Stoicism regarding mental, corporal and external goods. The author reconstructs early Stoics as saying that corporal and external things do not correspond to the criteria of the good, are not related to happiness, the corporal and external things belong to the sphere of the indifferent, and, at the same time, they have value and help the person to find bearings in public life.
